Private-Label Kids’ Underwear Prints: Prepare the Design Brief
Start a print brief with the interests of the customers you serve, then explain how each design belongs on the garment and in the pack. A theme name such as ‘dinosaurs’ is not enough for a production discussion. The supplier also needs to understand the artwork, placement, colours and proposed quantities.

The existing Animal Friends girls’ boxer brief set includes dinosaur, penguin, bear and fox designs; these are catalogue references, not a proposed custom pack.
Use a discussion to find questions, not to declare a trend
One Reddit parent wanted more varied underwear designs for a daughter whose interests did not match the available princess-heavy choices. Replies mentioned other interests and the difficulty of finding a preferred motif in a preferred cut. That is a useful merchandising question: are you choosing a product because of its shape, its print, or both? It is not evidence that every child wants the same alternative.
Ask your own stockists or customers about themes before assigning quantities. Keep the responses separate from requests about comfort and size. A popular picture on a poorly matched garment does not answer the second concern. Do not describe a theme as a bestseller unless you have sales evidence for that claim.
Show what the reference picture is meant to explain
Give every proposed design a short reference such as A, B or C. Put the image beside a sentence explaining whether you mean the subject, palette, drawing style or placement. A photo of a finished pack can otherwise be mistaken for a request to reproduce the entire product.
Use artwork you are authorised to supply. A character mentioned in a Reddit thread is a consumer preference, not artwork approval for a factory. If the design file is unfinished, identify it as a concept and ask which production-ready files are required. Do not let an early sketch silently become the approved printing file.

The existing Explorer Print boys’ boxer brief set combines space, vehicle, dinosaur and sea-life themes. A custom artwork request needs its own review.
Describe the picture on the garment
| Design field | Example of useful information | Decision still needed |
|---|---|---|
| Theme | A: small sea animals; B: a single explorer motif | Which artwork version is selected |
| Placement | Repeat across the fabric or a motif on a marked panel | What placement the proposed process can achieve |
| Colour | Named colour references and the intended base fabric | How the physical sample will be approved |
| Pack position | A, B, C and D shown as four separate garment references | Whether the proposed custom combination is feasible |
A single front motif and an all-over repeat require different placement notes. Show the garment outline, the intended print area and the proposed scale. Identify any part that must stay clear of seams, labels or the waistband. Ask which details can be controlled for the proposed construction and process before setting acceptance criteria.
Separate a catalogue choice from a custom pack
LULUNIO already has several themes in its catalogue. The Animal Friends girls’ boxer brief set contains a mint dinosaur motif, blue penguins, yellow bears and a purple fox motif. The Explorer Print boys’ set includes space, construction vehicles, dinosaurs and sea life. Read each product’s own contents rather than assuming a theme is available in every shape or height.
Existing stock is supplied as the published four-piece sets. Choosing favourite pictures from several sets does not establish a new stock assortment. For a custom proposal, draw the pack and list the individual garments underneath it. Keep the number of finished packs separate from the number of underwear pieces.
Approve colour and surface feel on the intended fabric
A screen image is useful for choosing a direction, but it is not the final colour or surface reference. Request a sample that shows the proposed artwork on the intended fabric. Inspect the printed area and its reverse, including any surface that contacts the wearer. Ask what changes after the agreed laundering review and record what was actually checked.
The confirmed LULUNIO blend is 95% cotton, 5% elastane. Do not infer a printing method, organic status, colourfastness grade or chemical test result from that composition. Any required report must be checked against the actual material and product. Record unresolved details alongside the sample version rather than covering them with a broad ‘approved’ note.
Send a brief that can be quoted
Attach the design sheet, proposed garment shape, height range, quantities by design and size, and pack drawing. Add the destination and required arrival date. LULUNIO custom enquiries start from 100 individual pieces; this does not promise that every proposed design split is acceptable. Ask for the feasible split, artwork or sampling charges, packing terms and production schedule in writing.
You can start the discussion without a finished technical pack. Label unfinished files clearly and identify the decisions you want help reviewing. Send your print brief to LULUNIO so the quotation can refer to the same designs and quantities you are considering.
