Wholesale Kids' Underwear Pricing: How to Compare Four-Piece Set Quotes
Quick answer: A wholesale kids' underwear quote is comparable only when every supplier has priced the same selling unit, product specification, size mix and delivery responsibility. Begin with the four-piece set, then separate the garment cost from packing, freight, taxes and any custom-development charges. The lowest figure in a message is not necessarily the lowest cost of a sellable pack.

Start with the unit you will actually sell
An individual brief or boxer brief is not the same unit as a retail four-piece set. If a buyer requests 30 sets, that represents 120 individual garments. If another supplier responds with a price “per piece” rather than “per set,” dividing the quotations without first converting the units leads to an unreliable comparison.
Write the order line in one format: product reference + boys' or girls' style + size + number of sets + four pieces per set. Keep each set's print combination attached to its product reference. Two sets that both contain four garments can still have different designs, cuts or packaging requirements.
For LULUNIO's existing ready-stock catalog, the displayed products are four-piece sets. Ready-stock enquiries can begin from one set, subject to availability and the confirmed quotation. OEM/ODM requests start from 100 individual underwear pieces, not 100 four-piece sets. These are different purchase routes and must not be treated as interchangeable minimums.
Check six items before comparing prices
1. Product and material. Specify the product reference, fabric composition, construction, available prints and whether you are asking for stock merchandise or a custom version. LULUNIO's current catalog products list 95% cotton and 5% spandex; a proposed custom material needs its own confirmation.
2. Size allocation. Give the quantity for each actual size. Use the site's children's height references of 100–140 cm when relevant, but confirm the product's own measurement chart. Height alone does not guarantee fit. A vague request such as “mixed sizes” cannot establish whether the proposed assortment is available.
3. Packing. Ask whether the quotation includes the regular four-piece selling set, individual folding, an added label, an outer bag or a retail-ready custom package. Do not presume that custom packaging or artwork is included.
4. Minimum and price basis. Ask whether the minimum applies to sets, individual garments, a color, a design or the total order. The line item should identify currency, price unit, quotation validity and any sample or setup charges.
5. Dispatch and delivery. A ready-stock item may be dispatched quickly after confirmation, but dispatch is not arrival. Record when the seller expects to hand the goods to the carrier, then separately confirm the transport method and estimated destination delivery window. A custom order follows a different schedule.
6. Responsibilities after the goods leave the supplier. Request a written statement of freight, insurance, customs clearance, duties and taxes responsibility. Agree the relevant trade term and named location before comparing landed costs.

Use an illustrative calculation, not a borrowed price list
Assume a retailer is evaluating 24 four-piece sets. That is 96 individual garments. Suppose a hypothetical quote is US$4.50 per set, making the garment subtotal US$108. If the buyer's separate hypothetical freight allocation is US$42, the combined amount is US$150, or US$6.25 per set before any other charges. These figures are a calculation example, not LULUNIO prices, freight rates or a live quotation.
For a serious comparison, place any destination duty, tax, customs service fee, payment fee, packaging surcharge and expected non-sellable units on separate lines. Some amounts may remain unknown until the buyer provides a destination and transport plan. Mark them “to be confirmed” instead of writing zero.
A short quotation worksheet to send suppliers
| Item | Buyer should enter |
|---|---|
| Product | Product URL/reference; boys' or girls' style; approved fabric/print |
| Order unit | Four-piece sets for existing stock, or individual pieces for a custom order |
| Quantities | Total quantity and a breakdown by style, size and print |
| Packing | Standard set or specified custom label, bag and carton |
| Commercial terms | Currency; unit price; minimum basis; validity; sample/setup costs |
| Shipping | Destination; required dispatch window; proposed trade term; named place |
| Evidence | Product photos, measurement chart and any required inspection/testing documents |
A supplier who replies with just one number has not necessarily answered the request. A usable response should clarify exceptions: unavailable sizes, substitute prints, custom charges, packing not included or an unconfirmed delivery date.
How this works for smaller test orders
For a market test, a ready-stock selection may allow a retailer to observe demand without committing to a custom design. Keep the first assortment narrow enough to read sales by size and print. For a branded collection, start a separate OEM/ODM enquiry: confirm the technical requirements and whether the proposed quantity meets the custom minimum before discussing a final unit price. Do not assume that a low stock minimum also applies to a branded product.
Before placing an order, keep a copy of the final approved assortment and the seller's written terms. The goal is a comparison that another team member could reproduce from the same documents.
